I have never seen xy used for XQuery, maybe it is a typo for xqy but keeping for compatibility.

That xy extension seems to have been added in 2014 by the person who initially added extension support to CodeMirror 5's system (github.com/codemirror/codemirror5@0d6e329630). I agree we can just keep it. Thanks for adding the others!
